VW Launches Golf Estate Concept R-Line at the Geneva Motor Show

No sooner had the new Golf Estate been unveiled that VW announced a concept based on its compact station wagon. The Golf Estate Concept R-Line that made its debut today in Geneva is the first to receive the R-Line treatment and, according to the company, this concept shows how they envision such a version.

A redesigned front bumper with a bigger air intake and body-colored front splitters, high gloss black side sills, 18-inch “Salvador” alloy wheels in “sterling silver” paint with 225/40 tires, a roof spoiler and a black rear diffuser with chrome tailpipes at the left side set the R-Line apart from the Estate’s lesser versions.
In the cabin, the seats feature nappa leather in the middle and black carbon leather upholstery on their side bolsters while the steering wheel, arm rest and outside surfaces of the seats are covered in black nappa leather.
Under the bonnet, there’s a 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel that puts out 147HP (150PS) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. Power is channeled to all four wheels via VW’s 4MOTION AWD system that utilizes the new Haldex-5 clutch.
